Our First Trip

On Friday night we all went to the Kotel, AKA the western wall, for Shabbat services. It was purely incredible. As we were walking down to the wall we could hear the echo of many different temples around the old city singing different tunes and different prayers. Hearing all of these sounds really helped me see how many different sects of Judaism there are, as well as reminding me that though we are all different we are still Jews. What made this even better is about half way through our Shabbat service the Muslim call to prayer began. It brought out the religious diversity within the city. Jerusalem is an incredible place with many different sights and sounds, and a Friday night/evening is definitely a time to be there.
